Bintan Triathlon 2026 returns to the beautiful shores of Lagoi Bay, Bintan Resorts, bringing together athletes, families, and sports enthusiasts for a weekend of swimming, cycling, running, and island adven
Taking place from 2–4 October 2026, with the main races on 3–4 October, the 20th edition combines competitive racing with a tropical island escape. The event is expected to welcome 600+ athletes from more than 30 nations.
A Unique Triathlon Experience in Bintan
Unlike an urban race surrounded by traffic and high-rise buildings, Bintan Triathlon offers athletes the opportunity to compete in a tropical resort environment.
The race venue is located around Lagoi Bay, where participants can experience the island’s coastal scenery while taking on three disciplines: swimming, cycling, and running.
For visitors from Singapore, Bintan is also particularly accessible. A direct ferry from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal to Bandar Bentan Telani (BBT) takes approximately 60 minutes.

After completing the event, visitors can enjoy Bintan’s beaches, resorts, spa experiences, outdoor activities, and local attractions. Bintan Resorts offers a variety of accommodation options and leisure activities around the Lagoi area.
For international visitors, especially those travelling from Singapore, this makes Bintan Triathlon an opportunity to combine sport, relaxation, and island tourism in one short getaway.
How to Travel from Singapore to Bintan
One of the easiest ways to reach Bintan for the event is by ferry.
The standard route is:
Singapore → Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal → Bandar Bentan Telani (BBT), Bintan
The high-speed ferry takes approximately 60 minutes. Travellers should remember that Bintan operates one hour behind Singapore time and should arrive at the ferry terminal well before departure.
For visitors who prefer a private and convenient experience, arranging private airport/ferry transfers and hotel transportation can make the race weekend much easier, particularly when travelling with bicycles and sports equipment.
Travel from Batam to Bintan
Bintan can also be reached from Batam.
The official event information lists a route from Telaga Punggur, Batam, to Tanjung Uban, followed by a land transfer toward Lagoi Bay. The total journey depends on the connection and transfer arrangements.
This creates an opportunity for travellers to combine Batam and Bintan in one Indonesia island holiday.
A multi-destination itinerary could include:
